I never did Genis' solo in the GC version, and I'm leaving him for my 10x EXP playthrough (I sense a ridiculous amount of frustration coming) for the PS3 version, but I'd guess anything that can speed up his spell casting, and help him resume interrupted spells quickly (I forget the name of the EX skill, but I'm pretty sure there is one) would be useful. Colette's attacks are horribly slow or have an annoying attack radius, but Para Ball is fairly fast and reliable. Run away, Para Ball, run away some more, try and hop over enemies to attack them from behind if you can for some extra damage. For Colette, I'd recommend mass spamming Para Ball.
